So it's been a while since I posted a recent blog but I'm aiming to start again now that my projects are up to speed. My aim over these next few weeks is to begin to post things showing you the progress I'm making throughout my final year projects, inspiration, prototyping, sketching etc... to hopefully help give you an understanding of what it is I'm up to! So, what am I up to?
Currently I'm working on two final year projects; one covers "ageing population" and the other "deaf music experience". Over the past few months I've been researching and developing ideas for both projects and have come to my final design brief
design an intuitive visual communications device which enables the elderly to communicate with family abroad.
deaf music experience-
design a playable music device which allows young deaf children to experience music in a way which encompasses both visual and tactile qualities.
Over the next few weeks I will be blogging the progress I am making towards my final design solutions for you to see. For the time being this image
For the time being here is an image from Nigel Stanford's Cymatics project; Cymatics, is the study of how sound and vibration affects matter. My aim is to take this approach and reappropriate it towards my work to help visualise sound for young deaf children!
